Congratulations to the Genetic and Genomic Testing Optimization Service (Linbo Yu, and Drs. David Stevenson and Carlos J Suarez) for having their work featured as an article on GenomeWeb, an online newsletter for genetic and genomics stories. Based on the innovative approach of the study, their platform presentation at the 2016 American College of Medical Genetics (ACMG) annual meeting held on March 8 -12, 2016 was the featured story on this topic on GenomeWeb. Their study illustrates the value of a patient-centered utilization management service to improve patient care by reducing genetic and genomic test misorders. The Genetic and Genomic Testing Optimization Service was launched in January 2015, and in the course of one year, it has helped numerous patients and caregivers in our institution. Now, their experience will help guide other medical centers facing similar challenges bringing credit to Stanford Medicine and those involved in creating and implementing the service.
