Welcome to the Department of Pathology
 

Mission: To improve the diagnosis, treatment and basic understanding of human disease by clinical service, education and research.

Research: Advance basic science, translational and clinical research in pathology and related fields;

Patient Care: Provide pathology diagnostic services and blood products of the highest quality;

Education: Teach medical and graduate students, residents and fellows, and foster the development of leaders in pathology and related fields;

Citizenship: Contribute to the success of Stanford University Medical Center and Stanford University, and to the well being of all those people and communities we serve.

Dr. Jon Pollack receives the 2008 Clinical Scientist Award in Translational Research of the Burroughs Wellcome Fund

Jonathan Pollack, MD, PhD , Associate Professor, is one of thirteen recipient of the highly coveted Clinical Scientist Award in Translational Research of the Burroughs Wellcome Fund. Jon's proposal, entitled "Pathogenesis and diagnosis of clinically-indolent prostate cancer" was selected based on the scientific excellence of the proposed research and the potential for translation of the results into the clinical setting, as well as to recognize Jon's role as a mentor for the next generation of physician-scientists.
